Wolsingham Drop-in Session – Wed 4th November 2015
We're hosting a drop-in session, together with the Weardale Area Action Partnership, and inviting members of the community to come along and talk about Activating Community Engagement in Weardale.
Northern Powergrid, is piloting the Activating Communuty Engagement (ACE) project in Weardale and we’re on the lookout for local community groups and good causes to get involved. All the groups taking part in the project will be in with the chance of walking away with a share of up to £5,000.
Activating Community Engagement (ACE) is a community-based initiative that will reward people for making small changes to how and when they use electricity. Northern Powergrid wants to work at a community level to reduce use of electricity during times of peak demand, usually between 4 and 8pm when most people come in from work and switch on their TV’s, cookers and kettles. If we can do this, we could help pave the way for a greener, low carbon future and keep costs down for our customers.
Join us at our informal drop-in session to;
- Meet the team, learn more about ACE project and find out how your group can take part.
- Get advice on funding and help completing your application to join the ACE SuperLeague.
- Anyone who signs up on the day will receive a free smart plug worth £55 that allows you to control household appliances remotely from your smart phone or tablet.
