Activating Community Engagement (ACE) is a community project led by Northern Powergrid that rewards people for making small changes to how and when they use electricity.

Just by being flexible with your energy use, you could be in with a chance of winning individual prizes and, if you live in County Durham, funding for a community group or good cause of your choice. This could be a local charity, amateur sports club, Scouting group or something else that’s close to your heart!

By signing up to play The GenGame , you’ll receive a free smart plug worth £50 that gives you the power to control any household appliances you choose through a mobile app on your smart phone or tablet. As soon as the plug is set up and being used to run an appliance, you start earning points and these are collected in a fun online gaming platform hosted by The GenGame that we’re using to bring the ACE project to life. You can also win bonus points by agreeing to have your chosen appliance switched off for short periods at certain points in the week.

So what are you waiting for? Sign up and get involved!
